Four day strike announced by junior doctors

A new 96 hour walkout by junior doctors has been planned for 7am on Tuesday 11 April until 7am, Saturday 15 April, after talks with the Government to discuss pay did not result in any credible offer.

Advice for all residents during strike action:

West Berkshire residents who need care should continue as normal, unless specifically contacted, and do the following in emergency and life-saving cases.

  • Call 999 if it is a life-threatening emergency; emergency departments are for medical emergencies only, to help those most in need. An emergency is if somebody is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk like: a heart attack, stroke, having difficulty breathing, or a seizure.

  • If you’re not sure where to get help and support, please contact NHS 111 who will give you advice.

  • Your local Pharmacy or GP can help with non-emergency care.
