NHS Changes: Putting Patients First with More Choices and Easier Access"

The NHS is rolling out some exciting changes designed to give patients more control and make healthcare easier to access.

The recent updates aim to enhance patient choice and modernise existing services, including improvements to the NHS app.

These upgrades will allow patients to book and manage appointments, access test results, and choose treatment locations, providing greater control over their healthcare.

Additionally, the proposal to offer patients a choice of five hospitals for non-emergency treatments is designed to empower individuals to make informed decisions and potentially reduce waiting times. However, it is essential that these changes prioritise accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring that all patients, including those less familiar with digital technology, can benefit equally.

These reforms represent a significant step towards a more patient-focused NHS, but careful implementation will be key to their success. It is crucial that the reforms consider accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring that no patient is left behind.

Healthwatch West Berkshire remain committed to monitoring these changes and advocating for patient perspectives to be at the forefront of NHS improvements in our area.
